COMPACT turns a long URL into a compact link and a QR code. Using this tool means agreeing to the following.
Creating a compact link currently requires an invited email. Invitations are granted at the discretion of The Phan Initiatives. Anyone can request an invitation through the form on the invitation page; asking does not guarantee approval.
Every compact link and QR code must point to lawful, public content. Do not use this tool for anything that breaks the law, distributes malware, tricks people into handing over private details, or infringes another person's rights. The Phan Initiatives may remove an invited email from the list at any time.
Each invited connection can create up to twenty-five links a day. The tool overall is capped at three thousand links a day and ninety thousand a month. These limits exist to keep the tool available and reduce misuse.
This tool is offered as-is, with no promise it will be free of interruption or error. A compact link created here may no longer work if the underlying database changes or if The Phan Initiatives discontinues the tool.
The Phan Initiatives may disable a compact link at any time, particularly one that breaks the rule above.
These terms may change at any time. The current version is the one in effect; continuing to use the tool after an update means accepting the new terms.
Questions about these terms can reach the people behind this tool through phaninitiatives.org.

Creating a compact link keeps the URL you entered and the code — random or chosen — that points to it.
Because COMPACT is invitation-only, the email you enter to unlock the tool is checked against an invitation list and kept in a private table that is unreadable by the public — only The Phan Initiatives' own backend can reach it. That email is attached to each link you create, both to confirm the invitation remains valid and to let you view your own links again by entering that email on any device.
If you ask to be invited through the form on the invitation page, your name and email are kept privately too, reviewed only by The Phan Initiatives, to decide whether to invite you.
There is no login, no password, and no analytics tool watching what you do on this page. The Phan Initiatives can trace a compact link back to the invited email that created it — this exists to keep the tool from being used for fraud, phishing, or other harmful purposes without consequence, not to monitor ordinary use.
To keep the tool available for everyone, your connection is checked against a count of how many links it created that day, capped at twenty-five. That count exists only to enforce the daily limit, and is not linked to the links themselves.
Compact links and the daily count are kept in a private database, reachable only by this tool's own backend — never by visitors directly. The Phan Initiatives does not trade this information for money, and does not hand it to anyone else.
A compact link and its QR code work for anyone who has them. Do not put a compact link on anything private and expect it to remain hidden — the redirect is open to whoever visits it.
